Could you please take five minutes to complete an online questionnaire into women's use of the internet in relation to domestic violence. Click here
'Domestic Violence is violence occurring between two people living in the same household. The violence is about power and control.
It includes all aspects of physical, sexual and psychological abuse arising from threatening behaviour - from minor assaults to serious injury and even death. It must be stressed that it is mainly women and children who are victimised by the violence and men who are the perpetrators.
It is recognised as a gender violence and a serious criminal act.
(Living in the same household can be defined as people who are currently or who have been involved in a relationship.)'
Middlesbrough Domestic Violence Forum 1999 The prevention of domestic violence cannot be achieved by any single agency and requires the coordinated efforts of both protection and support agencies. The Forum will actively work to co-ordinate efforts in Middlesbrough to improve services and the safety of individuals.
The Forum has developed this site to highlight issues associated with domestic related violence, increase public awareness, and act as a source of information for all interested parties.
Anyone wishing to know more about the services the forum has to offer, please contact the MDVF Chair, Becky Rogerson on 01642 241864 or alternatively you can make contact through any of the agencies listed in this site or email here. |
